Data & freshness

How fresh is my data?

Your device syncs to its own app (for WHOOP: when the strap talks to your phone), the provider notifies us, and your vault updates within minutes. We also run scheduled sweeps that catch anything missed. Every response tells you its exact freshness: synced_at and minutes_before_this_response — so you are never guessing.

My numbers look old. How do I force a sync?

Open your device’s own app (for example the WHOOP app) for a few seconds so the strap delivers its data, and your vault follows within minutes. Vitality can only be as fresh as what your device has delivered.

What does this number actually mean?

Every field Vitality serves has a plain-English definition — meaning, unit, scale, and which direction is good. Ask your AI to check the definitions, or read them yourself: /api/v1/dictionary. If a number ever reaches you without its meaning, that is a bug on our side — please report it, seriously.

A day is missing. Is that a zero?

No — a missing day is a gap (your device didn’t record or hasn’t delivered it), never a zero. The AI prompt below teaches your assistant to treat it that way.

Privacy & the key

Who can see my data?

You — and anything you point your key at. Each member’s vault is isolated at the database level: the database itself refuses to serve one member’s rows to another, on every path. We never sell your data and there is no ad tech here. Full detail: Privacy Policy.

What exactly does my key do?

It is a live, read-only window into your own vault. Paste it once into an AI or a dashboard and the data stays current forever — no re-pasting, no upkeep. It cannot write, change, or delete anything.

I leaked my key (or just want a new one).

Hit Regenerate on your connect page. Every old copy dies the same second, everywhere. Your data never moves.

Connecting to AIs

Claude says a tool is missing, or acts like Vitality isn’t there.

  1. Settings → Connectors → toggle Vitality off and on (refreshes its tool menu).
  2. Using the desktop app with the OAuth “Connect” flow? Quit and reopen Claude after approving — it sometimes needs a restart to notice. Your approval is already saved.
  3. Still stuck? The key-in-URL method on your connect page is the most reliable path.

Teach your AI to use Vitality well (copy-paste once per chat or into your project instructions):

When you use my Vitality data:
- Use ONLY values returned by the Vitality tools/endpoints — never invent or estimate missing values.
- Every field's meaning, unit, and scale is defined in the Vitality dictionary (the get_briefing/tool descriptions, or GET /api/v1/dictionary). Check it before interpreting anything.
- Freshness: every response includes generated_at plus each device's synced_at and minutes_before_this_response. Use those stamps — never guess what time it is.
- A missing value is a gap in the data, not a zero.

Data feels stale in a chat?

My Vitality data looks stale. Check the freshness stamps (synced_at / minutes_before_this_response) in the last response and tell me exactly how old each device's data is — then remind me how to force a sync.

Account & billing

How do I cancel?

Anytime, from your billing page — you keep access through the end of the paid period and are not charged again. Canceling does not delete your vault; deletion is below.

How do I delete everything?

Email usevitality.support@gmail.com from your account email. We delete your account and vault within 30 days and confirm when done.

Is any of this medical advice?

No. Vitality is an information tool — not a medical device, not diagnosis, not treatment. For health decisions, talk to a professional. Details: Terms of Service, section 8.
